A friend recently introduced me to 42, my head is still reeling from all of the rules on points and bids. The game reminds me a little of Euchre, except with dominos. Kudos to the team that made the game for creating an AI that plays so well!

Okay, its a lot better than the previous version. Better speed, doesnt yell at you if you "play early", and the AI isnt painfully stupid. However, dont expect to be playing against a computer with the intelligence and skill of an avid 42 player. It still does things like making a first bid of 32 when 31 would have the same effect. ALSO, as a proud Ag, Im wondering why you described A&M as simply a school in east Texas!? It reminds me of how we tend to call UT (or tu for all of the sawed off horns type Ags :) the little school down the road! Ill chalk it up to the fact that a business probably didnt want to basically endorse A&M, so Im doing it for you :) But all in all, thanks for making a version of 42 that is acceptable!

Cool little game thats perfect for the iphones small screen.

Great app so far. Would love to see the ability to play random persons online instead of only within your own network. Greatly improved AI.

Like another poster, I too am a graduate of Texas A&M. Class of 2006, whoop! Ive moved to NC and dearly miss playing my beloved 42. All in all, I pretty happy with the experience in this game. Not flashy, but its fun. The computer makes some mind boggling bids and moves sometimes, including your partner. That said, its decent AI. Id love to be able to change the house rules to how I like to play. Nice job overall. Gig em!

Needs more bidding options. Still hasnt let me bid low yet.

Im an avid 42 player and am VERY disappointed in this ap. Weird bidding. Very slow. Cant see whats been played. Rather boring. Sorry.

If you are an avid 42 player you will be disappointed. Play is super slow and A.I. bidding is a joke. Highest bidder will always plays out all their trumps before trying to hit their partner. Hand doesnt end when bid has been acquired. There is no Nello/low bids, no splash, no plunge, no sevens (if you like those options). Playing against computer (and with AI partner) is like playing with a first time 42 player. No strategy what so ever. Wait until a better 42 game comes out. CCdominoes online is much better. Hope they convert thiers to an application.

Some recent negative reviews are not really justified: the game plays quite fast... the ai gives points dominos... and while the bidding isnt perfect, it is quite simple. I think a Nello option and a bit better AI would make this perfect 42.

This app does deserve a one star. Thats the best that can be said. Programming is a joke. If I had a partner that played like this game, Id trade him in for a comic book. That could keep me interested for 10 seconds. Bidding is a joke. Many of options for bidding are not available. Dont you love it when your partners runs out his trumps and has nothing but 4s and 5s for offs? I love it when he plays count on a sure winner for the other team. I love it when he could lead anything and leads a low 5 to set me. This thing is pathetic.

Just introduced to 42 by family and this app is great to learn more about it. The AI seems super smart in comparison to others new to the game, plus you can play it with others on their phones. I can see that an expert may have thoughts on how the AI could be improved, but for me it is perfect and just the right amount of challenge, where I win about as often as I lose.

Bidding options are restricted and the play of the computer players is not practical. Often when a suit is led, they will play the highest in that suit even if they have lower ones. Now Nill bids. Please improve.

Will not let you join a hosted game. When my husband creates to host a game his dominos do not show up. Then when I want to join in his hosted game I cant, says seats are already full and the loves up my screen and I had to delete the app and reload to clear it. They need lots of work on this app not worth fifty cents and we are out $4

As an occasional 42 player this has helped me brush up on my bidding, game play, and counting. Id be no match for the avid player but the app has helped me think about my play. Ill agree with other reviewers that the AI bidding and game play needs improvement. Going in fives without the double five happens often enough to be disappointing. When your AI partner outbids you and then proceeds to play foolishly it wears thin. On the other hand, a "mistake" every so often lends to a more " human" feel. I too would like to see a "lay down" feature when the bid has been reached. There is also a glitch when starting a new game and wanting Mark scoring. If you dont cycle the buttons it will ask for length of game in marks but still score in points. Occasionally after the bidding is done the trumps are shown as -5. Overall Im happy with the app. I play it often and overall enjoy the game. I do hope improvements are made but, until then, Ill keep playing and work around the glitches.

Im very frustrated with this app. Im trying to play single player and it does not accurately reflect the trump when you are the bidder. It happens everyone and is frustrating midgame to lose when its app error.

I went looking for a game to join but there wasnt one so here I am stuck looking for a game because there is no back button.

If they could teach the AI a few things like how to lead and pull trumps, on top of things exactly like what other reviews are saying like bidding on 5s w/o the 5-5 or even calling 6 trumps w/o the 6-6,6-5, or 6-4. Unrealitstic and makes a game I love to play boring at times.

Had a lot of fun with this in multiplayer, the AI could do with a little improvement but the creators did mention a new patch was on the way with some new game modes which might make this entertaining for those playing on single player! All in all Dominoes 42 3D is great for learning to play this classic game, and help you master the basics!
